Ashley Childs, DNP, FNP-BC, is a lifelong resident of New Mexico and family nurse practitioner specializing in bariatric services. Her primary focus is wellness promotion, nutritional guidance and medically-assisted weight loss for patients with weight-related health conditions.
As a bariatric patient herself, Ashley brings both clinical knowledge and personal experience to the care of her patients. She takes an approach that emphasizes education, individualized care plans and sustainable habit change. She works closely with each patient to ensure they feel informed and supported — whether they are considering weight loss surgery, nutritional counseling, medication management or adjusting to life afterward.
Bariatric surgery support group meetings are offered for bariatric patients every 4th Tuesday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Ben Woods Conference Room at MountainView Regional Medical Center, located at 4311 E. Lohman Ave. You can also join the meetings virtually. For more information about the support group, call (575) 556-8895.
