About
Michael McGuire, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who diagnoses and treats sports-related injuries, arthritis and conditions affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and other joints.
Dr. McGuire's orthopedic sports medicine services include: sports medicine, knee replacement surgery, partial knee replacement (unicondylar), treatment of arthritis of the knee (nonoperative), knee and shoulder arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, hip replacement and rotator cuff repairs.
After earning a Bachelor of Science from Brown University, Dr. McGuire received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of New Mexico and then completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
Since beginning his practice in Las Cruces in 1996, Dr. McGuire has cared for patients from across southern New Mexico. He has also provided orthopedic care for New Mexico State University athletes and local high school athletes.
