About
Paul Saiz, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and board-certified spine surgeon who diagnoses and treats conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, as well as the sacroiliac joints. He is the only board-certified spine surgeon in New Mexico. He cares for patients with neck and back pain, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and other conditions affecting the spine.
He performs cervical and lumbar decompression, cervical and lumbar fusion, disc herniation surgery, scoliosis surgery and sacroiliac joint procedures. He offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options based on each patient’s condition and goals.
After earning his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Saiz completed his orthopedic surgery residency through the Phoenix Orthopaedic Residency Program and completed two fellowships in adult reconstructive spine surgery in Phoenix and musculoskeletal oncology at Rush/Presbyterian in Chicago.
Dr. Saiz has practiced in Las Cruces since 2007. He serves as the spine physician for New Mexico State University Athletics and holds a committee leadership position with the North American Spine Society.
